Edmund Isaac Burra (Eddie)

Founder, Owner & Lead Expedition Specialist

Born and raised in Arusha and the Karatu Highlands on the southern slopes of Ngorongoro, Eddie has a lifelong connection to wildlife, landscapes and local cultures. With over 25 years of safari and guiding experience, his expertise spans wildlife interpretation, expedition planning, luxury safari guiding, cultural tourism and responsible travel.

There is nothing like the spirit of Africa. Safari awakens every sense and connects you deeply to the world around you.

Happiness G. Moshi

Co-Founder & Travel Experience Specialist

Born and raised in Arusha, Happiness holds a Bachelor’s in Commerce and Management (University of Dar es Salaam) and a Master of Science in Human Resource Management (Mzumbe University). She brings strong organizational leadership, service excellence and attention to detail — inspired by her first guided journey across the Serengeti.

My first safari changed my life. Through XA Travels, I am passionate about helping others experience the wonder, beauty and spirit of Africa.

“Xatsa” is an Iraqw word meaning “wilderness.”

XATSA African Travels is a registered travel company based in Arusha, Tanzania. XA Travels was born from a deep love of Africa’s wilderness and a responsibility to help protect it.

We create personalized luxury safari itineraries across East and Southern Africa, with a focus on conservation, authentic cultural connection and positive impact for local communities — Great Migration safaris, unlimited game drives, guided walks, beach holidays, gorilla and chimpanzee trekking, Kilimanjaro hiking and night game drives, designed for families, solo travellers, honeymooners and adventure seekers alike.
